MATHEMATICAL OLYMPIAD

Mathematical Olympiad is a competition for high school and elementary school students. It is organized by Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with Union of Slovak Mathematicians and Physicists (JSMF) and Slovak Committee of Mathematical Olympiad (SKMO) (see Rules of Organization of MO). The competition is directed by SKMO. In regions, it is governed by regional committees of MO and branches of JSMF. In schools, the teachers of mathematics organize the competition.

Documents on this page

As you can see, in the list of recently added documents, the time of addition for several documents is shown before the actual round. Explanation: the documents were added at that time (i.e. they were already physically on the skmo.sk server), but they were not accessible. They had a time lock set and could only be downloaded after the competition ended.

National round for Z9

This year, we plan to hold a pilot event, a one-day competition for approximately 40 of the most successful participants of the regional rounds of the Z9 category. The competition will take place on April 23, 2026 at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics in Bratislava. We will publish the details after the results of the regional rounds. In addition to the competition, the goal of the event is to inform talented students from all regions of Slovakia about the organization of mathematical competitions in high schools. We will prepare an accompanying program for accompanying teachers.

2025/26 IMO and MEMO qualification

The qualification process for international competitions used in the 2024/25 school year will also be applied in the current 2025/26 school year. When advancing to the selection training camp, not only the result from the national round will be important, but also the results from the qualification rounds held before the national round.
