MATHEMATICAL OLYMPIAD

Mathematical Olympiad is a competition for high school and elementary school students. It is organized by Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with Union of Slovak Mathematicians and Physicists (JSMF) and Slovak Committee of Mathematical Olympiad (SKMO) (see Rules of Organization of MO). The competition is directed by SKMO. In regions, it is governed by regional committees of MO and branches of JSMF. In schools, the teachers of mathematics organize the competition.

Qualification for IMO and MEMO in 2026/27

The qualification method for international competitions that we used in the 2025/26 school year will also be used this school year, 2026/27, but with a modified formula. You can find out more in this document, which also contains a link to the registration form.

We would like to draw your attention to the website https://mathcomps.fun, which gathers useful materials and resources for preparing for the Math Olympiad (MO). You can participate in the "Mathilding" competition there, where you receive immediate feedback on your solutions from an AI.

The wording of problem C-I-2 has been reformulated for the sake of clarification.

MO Problem Archive

The website https://ics.upjs.sk/~krajci/mo/archiv/ contains an archive of MO problems. You can find all high-school MO problems from all 75 editions (as well as some elementary-school problems) there.
